Kerry's skin is always flawless, which I love, love, love, love, love! But I think I'm loving her shoes the most in this photo! Wouldn't you agree?!

Mischo Beauty Superstar of the Week: Kiyah Wright

I can't believe it's time for this post again- time is flying! At any rate, I'm happy to announce that this week's "Mischo Beauty Superstar" is celebrity hairstylist, Kiyah Wright. Now you might be unfamiliar with her name, but if you've ever seen an episode of "The Tyra Banks Show" (for which she won an Emmy!) or "America's Next Top Model", then you've witnessed the fabulous hairstyles she's created for Tyra. Kiyah's also styled celebrities such as Iman, Kerry Washington, Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans, just to name a few.

Her work has appeared in such magazines as Vogue, ELLE, Glamour and Essence. I think what I'm loving most is that while Kiyah loves working "behind the chair", she's been able to use her expertise to develop hair accessories and products, and launch an image consulting company called, Muze Agency (all the things I'm planning to do!). Mischo Beauty: L'Oreal Paris Hip Color Presso Lip Gloss & Kohl Eyeliner

You all know how much I love Kerry Washington- well I'm sure after this post, and this post! Anyway, I believe that Kerry was the original face for L'Oreal's HIP collection, though after checking the website I now see that Beyonce is also a spokesmodel for the collection as well. At any rate I couldn't pass on the opportunity to try the new Color Presso Lip Gloss and Kohl Eyeliner.

After testing both out, I must let you know that the packing for both failed for me. The applicator tip of the Kohl Eyeliner is not "eye-friendly". It's too stiff/hard and doesn't give (we know how sensitive the eye area is) and I wasn't comfortable with applying it. After figuring out how to open the Color Presso Lip Gloss, I next needed to decide if it was meant to be applied with a brush, my fingers or if I was to place the applicator up to my lips. Naturally, I used a lip brush and I will say that the shades I tried- Swanky & Trendy- would work with almost every complexion.

As much as I love both Kerry and Beyonce, I'm not sure that I'd recommend either product due to the packaging design...

Beautiful hair needs an expert.

I'm sure by now you all know I'm a huge Kerry Washington fan! She'd been wearing a bob haircut, until this most recent photo of her with extensions. My guess is that her stylist used a two inch barrel curling iron to create the soft, flowing curls. My recommendation to seal the hair's cuticle and ensure that her curls are smooth and full of shine would be to use Elasta QP's Elucent Power Drops. The drops are formulated with squalane (oil derived from olives) and vitamin E which work together to provide maximum moisture. A few drops are all you need and your hair is infused with a great conditioning treatment, as well as shine!

Mischo Beauty Reader Favorite: Benefit Cosmetics

It’s that time again! My reader Maisha, a Ph.D. student at USF, wrote in to tell me how much she loves Benefit! For her it’s all about the eyes and Benefit is keeping her more than pleased these days. Because she’s a Ph.D. student, she’s been working around the clock finishing up course work and preparing for work on her dissertation. Benefit’s "Depuffing Action Eye Gel" is a lifesaver for her. It removes the puffiness from around her eyes and gives her an instant eye lift, keeping her looking fresh in the mornings.

She keeps her makeup relatively simple during the day but says that her eyes are the feature she loves to emphasize the most. It’s easy to build on, so when she’s meeting classmates for happy hour, she adds just a few additional coats. She’s even been asked if she was wearing false lashes! Her skin tone can be compared to that of Kerry Washington, so Benefits “Pink To Please A Woman...Gold To Get The Guy Palette" is the perfect accent to her complexion. The palette comes in a cute compact with a mirror and includes three lipsticks and three eyeshadows in various shades of pink and gold. There are sheer shades that work for the day and shades with sparkle and shimmer that work for night.

Mischo Beauty loves Kerry Washington! The New York native, GW Alumna, actress, and L’Oreal spokesmodel recently added “director” to her repertoire. She recently co-directed Common’s latest video, “I Want You” from his Finding Forever CD. After being asked to be “the girl” in the video, she agreed only if she could also direct the video.
