Mischo Beautyliciousness...

And just like that - we're back! The break away wasn't planned, but it was much needed! I'd planned a blog redesign, but that's been put on hold for now - and then the most AMAZING life changing blessing occurred (I'll tell you more about that later this week), so the break ended up being right on time. I needed it! What's that saying - "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans" - well I'm sure he's had a great laugh all while blessing me!

And speaking of blessings, I had to mention Beyonce's pregnancy (which I know is old news for most of you) -she's glows in the photo above. You know I'm a "Beyonce stan" and am so excited about the upcoming arrival of her little bundle of joy! So the obvious next question is- what do you think she's having? Let me know...

This is late, I know. I wasn't really into the Oscars this year. And when I decided to tune into the red carpet, I'd missed most of it and what I was able to see was a bore. But, apparently I missed Halle! And yes, she wins - as always!

And since we're on the subject of haircolor today, I had to let you all know that I'm loving Beyonce's newest shade of blonde, though I wish she'd lighten her brows just one shade (I can't help it, I'm a licensed cosmetologist). But have you all seen Gwen Stefani's new commercial for L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference Hair Color? O-M-G! Love it.

Just in case you missed it, my "A Healthy, Sexy & Beautiful 2011" post is up and the challenge is on! And with that said, this photo has officially been added to my vision board. Why? Because firm and toned legs are a must for 2011! Don't you agree?

The texture of the dress Eva Mendes is wearing above is what caught my eye! I love that it's so effortlessly chic. And her makeup (a makeup- no makeup look with a soft smokey eye) perfectly compliments the overall look...

So tomorrow's my birthday and while searching for inspiration on a hair and makeup look for birthday dinner #1 (tonight) and birthday dinner #2 (tomorrow), I stumbled on this photo of Beyonce. I'm loving the big hair, flawless makeup and of course the party dress. Fabulous!

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon to discuss Naomi Campbell's hair loss issues as talked about everywhere on the web this week (we discussed those here over 2 year ago)- that's old news! What I wanted to discuss today is the fact that she does not age! Is it her skincare regimen, diet, exercise or just great genes?

The beauty in this photo is most definitely the partnership between Mary J. Blige and Catherine Malandrino which resulted in a fashion show yesterday evening to benefit Mary's nonprofit organization, FFAWN (Foundation For the Achievement of Women Now). A beautiful partnership for an amazing cause- I love it!

I'm also loving their haircolor (had to mention it!) in the photo above, which actually caught my attention first- Mary's buttery blonde and Catherine's rich red brunette. The reason I went to beauty school and the reason I started this blog!

Kerry's skin is always flawless, which I love, love, love, love, love! But I think I'm loving her shoes the most in this photo! Wouldn't you agree?!

Thandie Newton was definitely the "belle of the ball" at last night's Costume Institute Gala celebrating the opening of the "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She wore a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label corset gown, accented by an effortless updo and nude makeup, with a focus on the eyes. Love it!

If you browse the Mischo Beauty archives, then you know we're huge Tracee Ellis Ross fans- yes, we've been blogging about her since just about day 1! When I saw this photo of her with the fabulous red coat, ring and her signature nude heels, I had to share. But really, it's all about her curls- always healthy, effortless and oh so very chic!

Today's post isn't about the hair, makeup or nail polish. And it's not about the dress or shoes. It's about using your gifts, talents and blessings to help those who need it most. You see, it warmed my heart to learn about the opening of the Beyonce Cosmetology Center at the Phoenix House Career Academy, which provides substance abuse treatment services for recovering addicts. Beauty is my passion, and I too have a goal of opening a beauty institute. But giving back is what matters the most, and this is such a great example!
