Mischo Beauty Loves: Claudia Schiffer for Salvatore Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2009 Ad Campaign

I'm not sure if the title of this post is correct. You see, I know I should be providing you with details on Claudia's hair, makeup, nails, hairstylist, makeup artist and manicurist- but it's the shoes and bags that I've been dreaming about and hence, this post!

Ferragamo's been on my radar recently since falling in love with their White Python Clutch.

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Dashing Diva Nail Polish & Akiko Ogawa Ready-To-Wear Fall 2009/#NYFW

Dashing Diva's Alisha Rimando and her nail tech team were backstage at the Akiko Ogawa show on February 15th to apply manicures.

Alisha created a chic, french with a light pink base and a dark faded pink tip using Headliner, Cosmopolitan, Dashing Diva, and Debutante polishes (clockwise above) from Dashing Diva’s new Manhattan Collection.

This collection is amazing- and I love how the nails are a nice, light and fun contrast against the collection.

The makeup was soft, very pure...

And the hair, well the hair was nothing less than a work of art. Loved it!

Your thoughts? Love it?

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: NARS & Herve Leger by Max Azria Fall 2009/#NYFW

NARS was the makeup sponsor for the Herve Leger by Max Azria Fall 2009 runway show. Makeup artist, Diane Kendal drew inspiration from Helmut Newton photographs, using the concept of a brave warrior- strong and fierce.

"The collection is very hard and sculpted so we wanted to keep the skin neutral and show strength through the eyebrows," said Diane.

The focus was a very strong eyebrow with glowy skin, communicating strength without being too bold. "We created very fresh, dewy skin by using the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. It really allowed the skin's natural highlights to shine through," said Diane.

The products used to achieve the look- NARSskin Hydrating Moisture Cream, NARS Concealer, NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, NARS Single Eyeshadow in Bali, NARS Single Eyeshadow in Sophia, NARS Eyelash Curler and NARS Lip Therapy Treatment in Rain.

Love the look?

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Barbie Runway Show/#NYFW

For those of you who may not have known, Barbie turned 50 this year- and in honor of her birthday, fifty designers were asked to design outfits for the Barbie runway show which took place yesterday at the Bryant Park tents.

I've included a few of my favorite looks, beginning with the Catherine Malandrino Barbie (I'm pretty sure this is Shelby Coleman modeling this look-love her!)...

Rachel Roy Barbie

I loved this Barbie, but I wasn't able to find out the designer. If anyone knows, please share!

Rebecca Taylor Barbie

Diane Von Furstenberg Barbie

Baby Phat Barbie

She was a favorite as well, love the belt!

Christian Louboutin designed the hot pink pumps (Pantone 219 Pink) and stated, "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes." I agree- LOVE those shoes!

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Zoya Nail Polish & Rachel Roy Ready-To-Wear Fall 2009/ #NYFW

Zoya's "Tasha" was the nail color of choice for Rachel Roy's Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear Collection.

Often called the "perfect nude nail polish", "Tasha" complemented the overall look. The "bobbed" wigs were created by a team of stylists from Frederic Fekkai.

And, the black lips, which totally reminded me of YSL's Gloss Pur Black, were definitely the focus of the look.

I loved the collection and thought it was very chic and sophisticated. Congrats to Rachel Roy!

Mischo Beauty: Thandie Newton

I officially became a Thandie Newton fan after seeing her in the movie Beloved. She was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I'm loving her dress in the photo- but I'm loving her lipstick even more! It's perfect for her skin tone and compliments her entire look.

My question for you is - what lipstick do you think she's wearing?

Beautiful hair needs an expert: Big Sexy Hair's "Spray and Play"

I've used almost all Sexy Hair products while in cosmetology school and have not only been pleased with the results, but very impressed that there's a product for just about every hair type/issue. I love Keesha Sharp's (Monica on "Girlfriends") signature "big hair" and would recommend Big Sexy Hair's "Spray and Play" for holding the volume her hair is so well known for, and for infusing shine. This hairspray fights humidity, while ensuring a flexible hold. This means that she can style and restyle her hair during the shooting of the show and on the red carpet with no issues.

Any Sexy Hair fans out there?

Mischo Beauty Review: Sedu Revolution Nano Tourmaline Ionic 1" Styling Iron

So after hearing my beauty blogging friends, Urbane Girl and All About The Pretty, rave about the new Sedu flat iron, I couldn't wait to try it! Well my test for a new flat iron is always whether or not it will straighten my type 4B hair, without burning it or drying it out. After shampooing and deep conditioning my hair, I choose to sit under my hooded hair dryer, as opposed to blow drying. Oh, and I used my FHI Heat Hot Sauce as my thermal protectant.

After training with Vidal Sassoon, I learned that the key to a successfully flat ironing the hair is to first section the hair for organization, and then flat iron sections no thicker than 1/2 inch (if not smaller, depending on the texture of your hair). I used the highest temperature setting on my natural hair, due to the fact that it's coarse and tightly coiled. Shiny, silky, and soft hair was the end result for me- and yes, I was very pleased.

A few other facts about the Sedu that I love are:

- The Sedu comes with a heatproof mat (I often style my hair on the go, so the mat makes
traveling with the Sedu easy!)

- The adjustable temperature control allows me to set the temperature based on my hair's
texture (in case I decide to relax my hair) and needs

- The Nano Tourmaline plates ensure an even distribution of heat and a smooth finish

- The curved edges of the plates allow for easy curling of your hair, and the Sedu comes with an
instruction DVD with easy to follow steps for achieving curls, waves, etc.

Oh, and I love the packaging (very sleek and chic), which made me excited about trying what was inside. Overall, the Sedu is a winner and I recommend it!

Mischo Beauty Extra: CHANEL's "Vendetta" Nail Polish

So I'm finally wearing Chanel's "Vendetta" nail polish, which is part of Chanel's Spring 2009 makeup collection. It was love at first sight when I saw the bottle on the counter, and I actually bought it without trying it on.

Now the color in the bottle is a deep, dark shimmery purple with a slight iridescent feel to it. On my nails, the color looks so chic- and I used two coats to achieve my finished look. I love the color and highly suggest it be worn on short, manicured nails. Oh, and don't forget your base coat- it'll prevent nail polish stains!

Do you love it?
