Mischo Beauty Loves Givenchy Les Poetiques 2009 Fall Makeup Collection

Based on the items I was sent to try from Givenchy's new Les Poetiques makeup collection for fall 2009, I will tell you that you won't be disappointed! The collection includes soft, neutral, sheer/shimmery shades and honestly, at first glance, I thought this was a spring or summer collection. Givenchy's Artistic Director for Makeup, Nicolas Degennes, states:

"From wintry winds to the winds of time, echoing melancholy's mire, beauty emerges so sublime, painting a landscape of desire.... Poetically, it borrows from the natural and enhances it with mystery. The dream emerges... a bed of roses... a stormy night... a first kiss... in a watercolour of emotions. Each woman has her mood, and each day, its surprise. Like feelings that "flood" the face, "Les Poetiques" naturally reveals the high-romance femininity of the Givenchy Woman. Each passion, and each woman, is unique."

The star product of the collection (which I've said before) for me was definitely the Phenomen'Eyes mascara, which is now available in No.4- Poetique Grey Lavender. This mascara in general, regardless of the shade you choose, is definitely the best luxury brand mascara, because it works! Anyway, I'd love to hear what you all think about this collection or Givenchy makeup in general. Please share!

Mischo Beauty Review: Lancome's Declaring Indigo Ink Artliner & Color Fever Gloss in Piha Black

Lancome's Fall 2009 Color Collection includes the Declaring Indigo Ink Artliner, which is a rich, velvety gel eyeliner that I've been wearing it on my upper lash lid as of late. I've received tons of compliments, but what I love the most is that it doesn't move once applied!

And I had to tell you all how much I'm loving the Color Fever Gloss in Piha Black! I'm a year late with this review, as it was originally released with the Color Fever Lipstick in Piha Red (the set was inspired by the signature Christian Louboutin pump), with the gloss meant to be worn over the lipstick. Lancome only released 500 sets of the lipstick/lip gloss and I'm not sure if either are still available for purchase.

At any rate, I've tested the gloss, layering it on top of a few red lipsticks of my own, and I love it! It's a "runway" look- definitely meant to be worn by the confident only!

Any thoughts on the eyeliner or lip gloss? Do share!

Mischo Beauty: L'Oreal Paris Hip Color Presso Lip Gloss & Kohl Eyeliner

You all know how much I love Kerry Washington- well I'm sure after this post, and this post! Anyway, I believe that Kerry was the original face for L'Oreal's HIP collection, though after checking the website I now see that Beyonce is also a spokesmodel for the collection as well. At any rate I couldn't pass on the opportunity to try the new Color Presso Lip Gloss and Kohl Eyeliner.

After testing both out, I must let you know that the packing for both failed for me. The applicator tip of the Kohl Eyeliner is not "eye-friendly". It's too stiff/hard and doesn't give (we know how sensitive the eye area is) and I wasn't comfortable with applying it. After figuring out how to open the Color Presso Lip Gloss, I next needed to decide if it was meant to be applied with a brush, my fingers or if I was to place the applicator up to my lips. Naturally, I used a lip brush and I will say that the shades I tried- Swanky & Trendy- would work with almost every complexion.

As much as I love both Kerry and Beyonce, I'm not sure that I'd recommend either product due to the packaging design...

Mischo Beauty Review: Cat Eyes by POP Beauty

If you have any issues applying eyeliner, then you need to get this- and quick! Cat Eyes is a slanted eye crayon (eyeliner) recently launched by POP Beauty and what makes it unique, is it's slanted tip. I tested Black Olive (it also comes in Black Onyx and Black Dahlia) and I have to tell you that the pigment is surprisingly intense and it's very easy to apply!

For those of you who love the bold "cat eye" look, you only need to follow the lashline with the slanted tip and the "flick" will automatically appear at the end of the lashline. The application is just too easy!

Have you tried it?
