Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Gucci Westman for Revlon & Ohne Titel Spring 2011

The opportunity to watch Revlon's Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman, create the looks backstage for Ohne Titel was THE highlight for me for fashion week (well, so far). While talking with her backstage, she complemented me on the bold red lip I was wearing (yes!) - and little did I know at the time that her look for the show included a somewhat similar look! Inspiration for the look was drawn from the designer's vision of a "strong athletic, fresh-faced beauty".

Neutral makeup on the eyes, with a strong brow and bright lips
was the final look for half of the models. A completely nude palette was used for the remaining models, with the addition of subtle color on the cheeks. And I'd have to say that the "lip look" was a win. Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Siren" (part of the new Fire & Ice collection available 11/1/10) and Just Bitten Lipstain in "Passion" were used to achieve the bold lip. And Revlon's Colorburst Lipstick in "Fashion's Night Pout" (which was only available during Fashion's Night Out) was used on the nude lip models.

Love the lips? Let me know!

Mischo Beauty Pick: Revlon's Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Self Adhesive Eyelashes

A few months ago I told you how much I liked Revlon's Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Glue On Eyelashes, and most recently they've launched the same styles with a "self adhesive technology". I recently tested out the "Intensifying" and "Defining" styles and I highly recommend them.

The same application steps apply, as with "glue on eyelashes", except for the fact that there is an adhesive glue strip attached to the lashes. Just remember that they are for "temporary" wear, but they can be reused- thanks to the extra self adhesive strips included with the lashes!

Oh, and also- practice makes perfect- so don't wait for a special occasion to test these out. Buy a pair for practice to ensure a seamless application.

Do false eyelashes interest you? If so, tell me why?

Mischo Beauty School: Eyelashes 101 & Revlon's Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Glue On Eyelashes

If you've been following my blog, you probably know how to apply lashes by now, right? If you need a refresher, please visit my "Mischo Beauty School: Eyelashes 101" post from last month, and please feel free to leave questions for me in the comments section.

So, I have to let you know how much fun I've been having with Revlon's Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Glue On Eyelashes. You might remember me telling you a few years ago that lashes were my favorite beauty accessory, inspired by the first Mischo Beauty Icon, Diana Ross, and her iconic look of the 60’s/70’s.

Well the Revlon Fantasy Lengths collection includes five different eyelash styles and comes with a set of eyelashes, eyelash adhesive and an instruction guide. Four easy steps, and with a little practice, you've got new lashes!

I just realized that Revlon's website doesn't list the eyelash styles included in the collection, so I've decided to include photos (please pardon the flash!). Pictured above is style called "Defining", which I believe will give you the most natural look- if trimmed down...

And then there's "Lush"...

A style called "Chic"...

"Minx" is the "party" lash style...

And the style called "Blue Shadow" (the lashes are actually blue!) is simply put- FIERCE!

Mischo Beauty News

According to Women's Wear Daily, Gucci Westman, celebrity makeup artist and former international artistic director for Lancome, has joined Revlon as their global artistic director. I'm sure you all know that Halle Berry has been a Revlon spokesmodel for years now, and she's now joined by Jessica Alba and Elle Macpherson. In all honesty, I haven't bought Revlon since college- I use to love their nail polish and lipsticks. Hopefully Gucci will be able to do for Revlon, what Pat McGrath has done for MAX Factor and catch up to L'Oreal!

Is anyone using Revlon? If so, what are your picks?
