Mischo Beauty in the News!

While we were away I was informed by my Spelman sister Spring, and my beauty blogging friend Joi, that I'd been quoted in the September issue of Ebony Magazine. I was included in "The Ebony Beauty & Grooming Awards" feature on page 69! A few months earlier, I'd been asked to share my thoughts on my favorite at-home relaxer (which happens to be the Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Relaxer) and had no idea my feedback would be shared with the world!

While I don't really advocate self-relaxing (hey, I'm a licensed cosmetologist!) for many reasons I've discussed on the blog many times before, I will relax my own hair every blue moon. Typically, you should only get your hair relaxed by a beauty professional who has attended cosmetology school. This at-home relaxer is my go-to for the reasons I mentioned in the article:

"I've used this relaxer repeatedly, and I've never had an issue with application, over-processing, breakage or dryness."

It's the truth! And it's such an honor to be included in this issue. I'd like to send a special "THANK YOU" to the beauty editorial team at Ebony Magazine!

For all the Smashbox lovers out there- I just received an e-mail announcing the launch of the new Bionic Mascara. From what I've read, its ionic formula contains aloe, wheat protein, silk and olive oil which all work together to strengthen the lashes, while giving you the length you need without clumping. It's brush is specially designed for a soft application and it only comes in jet black for maximum definition. Sounds like the perfect mascara to me. I’ve added it to my list!
There's also the O-Glow Intuitive Cheeck Color which works with your skin's natural chemistry to give you a natural glow. It's said to work on every skin tone to turn cheecks their natural blushing color. The best part is that it contains antioxidants such as Vitamin C, pomegranate seed oil, and marine botanicals which work together to protect the skin. The O-Gloss Intuitive Lip Gloss works the same as the O-Glow and gives your lips a natural shade of pink. It also contains avocado oil for moisture and shine.

Finally, I've just learned that the Photo Finish Foundation Primer comes in a formula with UVA/UVB SPF 15! If you've been following my blog, then you know how I feel about protecting the skin. You have to guess my age, but the majority of the time I'm usually mistaken for 10 years younger than I actually am and I know it's because I take care of my skin and protect it- along with being blessed with great genes! Anyway, this new formula still allows you to smooth your complextion of large pores and lines, but also allows for protection against UVA/UVB rays and it contains antioxidants which work to prevent aging.
If you're using any of the above products, please let me know. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I've just learned that Bendel Beauty launched the M.A.C Fafi line yesterday. I gasped when I saw the e-mail blast because I'm patiently awaiting the release in the DC Metro area. Oh well, living in New York definitely has it's perks! You can also meet Fafi at Bendel on February 13th from 4pm - 6pm.

Fergie is definitely living the "Glamorous" life! She attended the Marc by Marc Jacobs show on Wednesday, sitting front row of course and was recently named M.A.C's Viva Glam spokesperson.

Finally, M.A.C just launched a new lipstick called Slimshine. It's described as having the creamy, smooth texture of a lipstick and shine of lip gloss without a sticky finish. Based on Christine's swatches over at Temptalia, my favorites are Rock Out and Grenadine.
