Mischo Beauty Pick: The Lancer Method
My love for skincare closely follows behind my love for hair, which you all already know (*smile*). So an offer to try The Lancer Method, a 3-step skincare program consisting of LANCERx products for your specific skin type, was of definite interest to me! Created by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer, LANCERx products are the answer for those seeking a simple skincare regimen delivering medical grade improvements.
I've been using the regimen (Extremely Pure Cleanser, Natural Sea Mineral Polish & Repair AM/PM Nourishing Treatment) for a few weeks now and I'm beyond pleased with the results. The "hero product" of this program has to be the Natural Sea Mineral Polish! It's formulated with magnesium oxide crystals and feels like a microdermabrasion treatment. After application it warms on your skin. And after rinsing, it leaves your skin silky smooth. I use it with caution (and definitely not daily), only because my skin is easily sensitized. There's no doubt that this is a spa grade treatment and I love it!
Would love to hear your thoughts on LANCERx. Have you tried the products? Would you? Please share!

Mischo Beauty Pick: ReVersital 3-in-1 MicrodermaStick
What I will tell you is that this stick is made up of magnesium oxide crystals - the same microcrystals used in a microdermabrasion procedure, and it also acts as a cleanser and moisturizer, hence the "3-in-1". I've used this stick repeatedly on my feet, and yes they are smooth! It can also be used on your hands and elbows, and there's a special stick meant to be used specifically for the face, throat and decollete. Both sticks are available at Henri Bendel, The Plaza Beauty by Warren Tricomi and ReVersital.net.

Mischo Beauty School: Microdermabrasion 101
As I've stated, microdermabrasion is a mechanical form of exfoliation that involves the use of a vacuum to spray microcrystals across the skin in order to resurface the outermost layer of skin. It is a noninvasive procedure and the benefits include improved skin texture, moisture retention, elastin and collagen production, and the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues. You might be a candidate for this procedure if you've experienced the following:
- Sun Damage
- Coarse textured skin
- Enlarged pores
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Pigmentation problems
The service includes a professional cleansing, massage, microdermabrasion, a soothing mask and the application of a moisturizer with a sunscreen. In order to achieve the best results, you really need to commit to a series (with each procedure 7-10 days apart) and be consistent with your home skincare regimen. The results from this procedure are amazing and those who've experienced the benefits from it, recommend it without reservation!
I've had this procedure performed on myself while completing my esthetics program. I'm not a candidate for it because I have easily sensitized skin, and it is not recommended if you have sensitive skin or scar easily. The procedure can be uncomfortable and you might experience some sensitivity which usually goes away shortly thereafter. If improperly performed, it might cause hypopigmentation/hyperpigmentation (light/dark discoloration of the skin).
If you're considering this treatment, I would highly suggest having a thorough consultation with your esthetician. Based on a discussion about your lifestyle and medical history, it would be determined if it was appropriate for you. Love your skin.
Have you had microdermabrasion? If so, what were the results?

Mischo Beauty Product Review: Microdermx

I've posted a few lessons on microdermabrasion in the past and have expressed my thoughts regarding the best candidates for the procedure, as well as my personal experiences with it. When given the opportunity to try Microdermx, I honestly thought it was just another exfoliant, but I was wrong. Microdermx is a microdermabrasion treatment made with medical-grade corundum crystals and works to refine enlarged pores, fade blemishes (acne scars, fine lines, uneven skin tone), stimulate collagen and elastin production, and increase cellular renewal. As soon as I applied Step 1 (Refinish), I knew right away that this was a professional strength treatment. It immediately reminded me of the microdermabrasion treatments I'd received in the past. Step 2 (Replenish) felt both calming and soothing on my skin. I think this is a good alternative for home use and I love the fact that there are no artificial fragrances/colors, parabens or fillers.

I've been writing about the benefits of exfoliation and how important it is to incorporate it into your skincare regimen for the past few months. This post is in response to a few of my readers who have e-mailed me inquiring about microdermabrasion. They wanted to know what the procedure entailed and who would be the best candidate for it.

The service usually includes a professional cleansing, massage, the microdermabrasion procedure itself, a soothing mask and the application of a moisturizer with a sunscreen. In order to achieve the best results, you really need to commit to a series (with each procedure 7-10 days apart) and be consistent with your home skincare regimen.
I've had this procedure performed on myself only because I was required while completing my esthetics program, but I'm not a candidate for it because I have easily sensitized skin.
