Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: CND & Joanna Mastroianni Fall 2011

The Spectator manicure, created by CND's Angi Wingle, was the star of the show at Joanna Mastroianni. Using CND's Blackjack as a base, moons were created on each nail using Brilliant White, bordered with Silver Chrome. The nails completed the 60's influenced beauty look of sky-high French twists and fiery orange lips in a runway tribute to photographer Lillian Bassman. Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Lancome & L'Wren Scott Fall 2011

I'm sure we can all agree that Lancome is probably best known for their amazing mascara primer and collection of mascaras - which are the answer to just about every lash need. So it was no surprise to learn that the focus of the makeup look, for L'Wren Scott, was the eyes. A "dangerous eye" was created using a combination of the soon to be released Gris Fatale eyeshadow palette, Le Crayon Khol in Black Ebony and Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black. Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: T3 & Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2011

I briefly discussed how much I liked T3 tools here about a week or so ago and was pleased to learn that celebrity hairstylist Orlando Pita used a combination of T3's blow dryers, flat irons and liquid products- "Plump" for volume, "Elevate" for texture and "Control" for hold (all part of the Orlando Pita Liquids collection for T3) to create the textured, low ponytail worn on the runway. Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: MAC & Rodarte Fall 2011

The lippie at Rodarte has my name written all over it! It really is about how the look translates off the runway (right!?!), and this lip color will perfectly compliment my red hair and freckles. Using MAC's "Photo" lipstick, inspiration to create the look was drawn from the movie "Days of Heaven", as well as the various shades of brown, cream, taupe and beige used for the collection. Those of you who are extremely busy but still want to learn more makeup application techniques may want to consider online schools offering beauty classes.

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Priti NYC & Thakoon Fall 2011

The nails at Thakoon were soft and oh so pretty! My first thought - SPRING, definitely not fall. But, there are no rules when it comes to beauty- so fall it is! The color is a custom blend of Priti's "Crown of Thorns" and "Moonstone Cactus". To see more backstage beauty and full looks from the show please visit vogue.com.

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Dashing Diva & Naeem Khan Spring 2011

After reviewing the runway show for Naeem Khan's Spring 2011 collection- I'm convinced that the entire collection is to die for! And, I'm happy to report that a nail polish favorite of mine, Dashing Diva, was the nail sponsor.

The collection was complemented by a custom mixed nail polish by Pattie Yankee for Dashing Diva. A beautiful nude shade (shown below) was achieved by using 50% "Live Nude Girls" and 50% "East Hampton Estate".

The custom nail shade is definitely a winner! Don't you agree? Do you custom mix your own shades?

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Redken & Marc Jacobs Spring 2011

My favorite collection this season is, without a doubt (seriously, this collection is ME!), Marc Jacobs' Spring 2011 collection. The overall look was "70's glam" and I love how Guido Palau for Redken was able to completely capture the decade in the look he created for the hair.

A combination of curling, crimping, brushing and teasing were used along with Redken's Thickening Lotion and Quick Dry Instant Finishing Hairspray. Soooooo are you loving the look as much as I am?

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Sally Hansen & Tracy Reese Spring 2011

Last season (Fall 2010) I gave the best nail award to Sally Hansen for Tracy Reese. And I'm happy to say that they did not disappoint with their most recent collaboration. This time around the models' nails were covered with Sally Hansen's Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (which officially launches in March 2011) , which are nail color adhesives.

The color used was "Wicked Bamboo", which is a creamy beige shade with tan stripes. They're easily removed using nail polish remover, but the best part of all is the fact that they require no drying time!

I think they're worth a try- do you agree?

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: NUDE Skincare & VPL Spring 2011

You all know how much I love discussing skin/skincare on this blog (though I equally love discussing hair too!) and so when I found out that NUDE skincare had prepped the models' skin for the VPL runway show (in addition to partnering with designer Victoria Bartlett to design the Planet NUDE Survival Twin Set, a cargo bikini carrying NUDE's cult favorite products- pictured above), I HAD to share.

While backstage, models and makeup artists spritzed, sprayed and smoothed their skin with a selection of NUDE "must-have" products - scooping up cult-favorites like the Cleansing Facial Oil, Miracle Mask and Hydrating Water. The products were used in combination with the Clarisonic Mia and Clarisonic Opal by celebrity esthetician Eileen Harcourt to achieve a "runway glow".

I'll be reviewing this regimen soon (can't wait!) and will definitely share my thoughts with you. Please stay tuned!

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: PHYTO & Andy & Debb Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection

While covering backstage at Andy & Debb, I had the opportunity to discuss the hair look with Phyto's lead hairstylist, David Cruz. He stated that the goal was to achieve a beautiful, perfect texture, that's shiny and healthy, but with very little volume- center parted and tucked a little behind the ears.

The hair was prepped with Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray with a mix of Phyto 7 Daily Hydrating Cream and then blown out. The ends of the hair were then flat ironed, section by section. To add shine and control flyaways, the hair was finished with Phyto Professional Glossing Cream from roots to ends.

Easy enough, right? Definitely a look you could achieve using these products, along with the right tools! The complete runway look is available here.
