Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Dashing Diva & Naeem Khan Spring 2011

After reviewing the runway show for Naeem Khan's Spring 2011 collection- I'm convinced that the entire collection is to die for! And, I'm happy to report that a nail polish favorite of mine, Dashing Diva, was the nail sponsor.

The collection was complemented by a custom mixed nail polish by Pattie Yankee for Dashing Diva. A beautiful nude shade (shown below) was achieved by using 50% "Live Nude Girls" and 50% "East Hampton Estate".

The custom nail shade is definitely a winner! Don't you agree? Do you custom mix your own shades?

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Dashing Diva & Tibi Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Oh how I love Dashing Diva, let me count the many, many ways! This season Dashing Diva created the nail look for Tibi's Fall 2010 Collection. The designer wanted a "mushroomie grey" color for the nails...

So head nail tech Pattie Yankee mixed Astor Place and West Village (pictured above), and the result was the perfect grey, taupe mushroom color pictured below on supermodel, Arlenis Sosa.

Love the nail color- definitely a WINNER! The complete looks from the runway show are available here.

Mischo Beauty Extra: Dashing Diva's Manhattan Spring 2009 Nail Polish Collection

I'm feeling like the luckiest girl in the world as I write this because I've had the opportunity to sample the nail colors used backstage at the Akiko Ogawa show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this past February. The shades pictured above (Cosmopolitan, Strawberry Fields, Ballet Flats & East River View) are part of Dashing Diva's Manhattan Collection for Spring 2009.

I loved "Ballet Flats" which is a creamy pastel coral with a soft shimmer.

"Cosmopolitan" (pictured far left) was not only used at Akiko Ogawa, but also at the Tony Cohen and DVF shows. It's an ultra-sheer, almost-clear, pink nude.

The nail colors are long-wearing (make sure you apply a base & top coat - always!) and they're formaldehyde, toluene and DBP free.

And so you're aware, Dashing Diva recently improved it's nail polish formulation with the launch of the Manhattan Collection to ensure it's "longer lasting and more chip-resistant".

So, your manicure/pedicure should last up to 10 days...and I'm on day 7, with just a tiny chip on my left index finger. Impressive!

Mischo Beauty Covers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Dashing Diva Nail Polish & Akiko Ogawa Ready-To-Wear Fall 2009/#NYFW

Dashing Diva's Alisha Rimando and her nail tech team were backstage at the Akiko Ogawa show on February 15th to apply manicures.

Alisha created a chic, french with a light pink base and a dark faded pink tip using Headliner, Cosmopolitan, Dashing Diva, and Debutante polishes (clockwise above) from Dashing Diva’s new Manhattan Collection.

This collection is amazing- and I love how the nails are a nice, light and fun contrast against the collection.

The makeup was soft, very pure...

And the hair, well the hair was nothing less than a work of art. Loved it!

Your thoughts? Love it?

Mischo Beauty Extra: Dashing Diva's "The Manhattan Collection" Nail Polish

By now, you all know I'm a fan of Dashing Diva nail polishes. After blogging about them here, I couldn't wait to try the newly launched "Manhattan Collection". The collection includes "The Red Carpet", "East Village", "NYPD Blue" and "Central Park After Dark". In the first photo above, from left to right, are "Central Park After Dark", "The Red Carpet" and "Golden Opportunity" which was one of two holidays shades released this past December.

While I loved the bottle colors of those I tried above, I have to admit that "Golden Opportunity" didn't work for my skintone. All were easy to apply- just two coats, except I used three coats of "Central Park After Dark" to achieve my desired finished look.

So let me know what you think! Favorites?

Mischo Beauty Extra: Dashing Diva's "Liquid Metal Liv" Nail Polish

I'll be the first to admit that I did get a little carried away with this post! (*smile*) I really did try to pick just a few photos, but with no luck. It's been a long week and I can't wait for the weekend. Anyway, I had the amazing opportunity to try Liquid Metal Liv, Surreal Camille and Lightening Ray from Dashing Diva, along with their Smooth Me moisturizing lotion.

Though I loved all three nail colors, my favorite was Liquid Metal Liv- totally Beyonce/Sasha Fierce, and what I needed to end the week with! This color is HOT! It's a creamy/frosty, smooth metallic. The application was very easy- just two coats to achieve the bottle color and it's definitely one of my favorites! Oh, and as I expected, the Smooth Me lotion was very moisturizing and non-greasy.

Love the color? What do you think?
