Mischo Beautyliciousness...

I love Melanie Fiona! That is all! LOL. No, seriously- if you haven't picked up her new album, then you need to run and get it now! She can sing, no excuse me- she can SANG! LOL. Something told me I'd love her new album after hearing her first single this past summer. Anyway, it's refreshing to see a "natural" beauty on the music scene. She's never overstyled- her look is kept natural and fresh, and I love that! And with that said, I'm on a quest to find out her beauty regimen, so please stay tuned!

Love her look? Let me know!

Mischo Beauty Pick: REN Omega 3 Overnight Lipid Renewal Serum

I now truly believe in the term "beauty sleep" but it took my studying skin physiology to understand it. When you're sleeping your skin cells repair themselves, which is why it's best to use serums, that penetrate deep into the skin, at night. Serums are extremely effective in aiding in the cell repair/renewal process.

I was introduced to this product by a sales associate at Sephora recently, and it's formulated with omega 3, vitamin E and vitamin A- which all work together to aid in the cell renewal process while hydrating the skin. I wasn't sure what to expect from this serum, but after the very first night I used it, I saw a HUGE difference in my skin. I highly recommend this!

Mischo Beauty Pick

I have normal/combination skin and I've started using Dermalogica's clay based Skin Refining Masque on my oily t-zone (forehead, nose and chin). It's reduced the oil, and because it contains cucumber and menthol, it's very soothing on the skin. On the other areas of my face, the dehydrated areas (eyes, lips, cheeks and neck), I've been using the Skin Hydrating Masque. This cold, winter weather seems to be taking a toll on my skin and not only has this given me much needed hydration, my skin is also being nourished with antioxidants. I highly recommend both!

Mischo Beauty School: Facial Masks 101

A great mask can do wonders for the skin. Masks are designed as an intensive treatment for different skin problems. Generally, there are two types of masks: setting masks and nonsetting masks. Setting masks, which normally use clay as their base, harden and dry and absorb oil and remove dead skin cells. Nonsetting masks are for dry or sensitive skin and are primarily moisturizing and soothing. Benefits of masks include the following:

1. Tighten and tone the skin
2. Draw impurities out of the pores
3. Clear up blemishes
4. Hydrate
5. Nourish
6. Calm and soothe
7. Rejuvenate the skin

Love your skin.
