Mischo Beauty Extra: Lemonade Stand By Your Man By OPI

My intention was to use MAC's "Phosphor", but it was sold out at the MAC store in Georgetown. I settled on OPI's "Lemonade Stand By Your Man" and I'll be the first to admit that I was clearly in denial when I bought this color for myself, but I just had to give it a try! Anyway, it clearly doesn't work with my complexion- and what's even worse is that I had to apply 5 - 6 coats just to achieve the color in the bottle.

What do you think?

hmm, i don't mind it on you, but the 5 or 6 coats is a no go for me.

I'm sorry I don't like it. Maybe a bright coral would be better. Try Cajun Shrimp or My Chihuahua Bites by OPI. Be on the look out for their fall collection. I think the new darks will be a hit.

i don't mind the color that much on you... but definitely think a more neon yellow would be better.... but i agree w/ dominican enigma about the no go on so many coats... i've found that a few of OPI's colors have been like that lately... tisk tisk :(

It's not bad but but maybe not such a frosty yellow color. I have NYC Yellow Taxi Cab( which is frosty yellow) and it looks horrible on me but I liked Essie Shorty Pants on my hands.

Ck out my post on what I think Keyshia Cole is wearing on her fingers, Essie Shorty pants.

It's ok...I think it's a little too much lemonade for both hands, lol! Then the coats...I like 2-3 coats. If I have to apply more, than I'm gonna be aggravated! :|

To "Dominican Enigma": If you saw it in person you would- LOL! And 5 - 6 coats is ridiculous!

To Shalon: I agree... I actually knew it when I bought it, but MAC was out of the color I wanted and I wasn't able to find Essie's Shorty Pants and I just really wanted to try a yellow nail polish. But yellow nail polish, in general, isn't a good look on me. :)

To Anonymous: I agree. I think Essie's Shorty Pants would have been a better "yellow" to try out...

Oh and can you imagine having your nails done and having the base coat and 2 coats of this applied, all to find out you need like 2 -3 more coats? LOL! My nails took FOREVER to dry!

To "Jamie @ Rural Glamour": I agree! The frosty/metallic yellow just doesn't work for me...

I looked at your post and I do like Essie's Shorty Pants on you and yes, I think that's what Keyshia is wearing too! :)

To Anjela: LOL! You are too funny and YES, I totally agree (and so does everyone who's seen it in person- LOL!). And- can you imagine how long I sat and waited for 5-6 coats to dry? I clearly have too much free time- right?! LOL!

To "Luxe Tips": Really? I guess the yellow just isn't a good look for me...I have a friend who wears Essie's Shorty Pants and it looks so good on her. Give it a try! :)

Actually I originally thought some of the new "mod" shades were more for the teen set, but I think it looks kind of chic on your toes...

I have searched far and wide for a perfect yellow nail polish! But, no luck. Actually, one color made it look like i just pissed on my feet, lol. So good yellow nail polishes are hard to find, at least for me.
