Mischo Beauty School: Eye Creams 101
I receive emails pretty frequently regarding the use of eye creams and they're usually concerning the following issues:
- Anti-aging
- Dark Circles
- Wrinkles
- Puffiness
Now in addressing the concerns above, I have to tell you that I'm a believer in taking care of oneself internally first, therefore reaping the benefits externally. So don't ever count out the invaluable benefits of adequate sleep, a diet rich in leafy greens, a multivitamin, and water- all of which I've discussed before.
If you're searching for a targeted treatment to address any of the concerns above- I'll share with you my best advice I've been giving out since starting this blog- and it is:
"Buy products formulated for your specific skin type/need/issue."
We all know that every brand makes an eye cream, so what I will suggest is that you start using the eye cream you choose consistently in order to really see/know if it works! Finding what works for you involves trial and error and consistent use for a minimum of 30 days (in my opinion).
Remember, for best results, eye creams should be applied to cleansed skin both morning and night, using your ring finger (the skin under the eye area is the thinnest skin on the body, which means you should use your weakest finger to apply product to that delicate area) before applying other products.
If there is an eye cream you're in love with, then let me know what it is and why! Read More......

Origins' GinZing Eye Cream
Yes, of course we all need to see. But what an inconvenience those eyes can be! Dryness, itchiness, bags... Argh! For years I've struggled with finding the right cream that moisturizes, depuffs, and addresses dark circles for the skin surrounding the eyes.
Being a loyalist, I'd go from formula to formula, within the same brand, before trying another brand's product. I consider myself an UNOFFICIAL "expert" on this issue. Well, I'm happy to say that all of my experimentation has paid off. After about my tenth lap around the beauty product field, I've circled back to Origins.
Origins has a new eye cream that does all that it claims: refreshes, brightens, and depuffs. Origins' GinZing Eye Cream is my secret formula after a hard night, little sleep, a late night, or any night, EVERY morning. I apply the product with my fingertips in a circular motion, moving upward, around my eyes. The product goes on with a cool, velvety smooth sensation, with the feeling remaining as it absorbs into the skin. And no, it does not interfere with my makeup!
And for this cream, I'm happy to add "revitalizing" and "rejuvenating" to its resume. It's proven to get the job done.
Enjoy and be well. -Ayanna Shamese

Mischo Beauty Pick: Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminée Eye and Lip Cream
You may not know this, but the skin around the eyes is the thinnest skin on the body and is for most people, the first place to show signs of aging. Who knew that you were supposed to start using an eye cream in your 20’s? I didn't know this until I started my esthetics program. I've been using Caudalie's Pulpe Vitaminee Eye and Lip Cream under my moisturizer, morning and night. It’s formulated to protect against free radicals (they damage skin cells and cause aging), reduce puffiness and diminish dark circles. I love it. Read More......
