Do You "Pre-Poo" (Pre-Shampoo)?

I'm the queen of mixing up a "hair cocktail" and recently shared with you all what I'm currently using as my pre-poo treatment. After reading various hair forums on the internet, I'm amazed at the variety of products people are using...

So my question for you today is: Do you "pre-poo" (pre-shampoo)? And if so, what do you use and why?

If I plan to use a clarifying shampoo I always prepoo. I normally mix a moisturizing conditioner with some oils (castor, coconut, or jojoba). I like Nexxus Humectress or ORS Replenishing Conditioner.

When I pre-poo I normally use Weleda's Rosemary Oil, or Spectrum Coconut Oil, ORS Replenishing conditioner, or Dessert Essence's Jojoba oil by themselves.

To hypnotic: Nice! Good idea too!! Clarifying shampoos strip your hair of everything- so it's good to have that "extra" conditioning treatment!

To BeautyXchangeGirl: Do you use them with heat? I need to check out the ORS Replenishing Conditioner (why don't I know about it!! LOL)...

When I do a pre-poo I don't use heat, I sleep with the pre-poo treatment overnight with a plastic cap.

This isn't a pre-poo but I use Weleda's Rosemary Hair Oil w/my shampoo. Rinse well. Pure jojoba with my conditioning or deep conditioning treatments. I part my hair and pour on my scalp, massage, and gently distribute w/a wide comb. These oils are very concentrated so you don't need a lot. Pure jojoba is great because chemically it's similar to the oil (sebum) in your skin. I've been doing this for about 2 months and my hair looks like silk. It's unbelievable. Also, daily, I take a small drop jojoba oil and run it through my locks. Amazing! People stop me in public.

To Shara: WOW! First, you're the second reader who's mentioned Weleda's Rosemary Oil...looks like I'll be making a trip to Whole Foods this weekend!

Secondly, I'm loving that you're making "hair cocktails" by adding the Weleda's Rosemary Hair Oil to your shampoo, and the jojoba oil to your conditioning treatments!
