Mischo Beauty Alert: Miss Jessie's Salon Is Back!

I just received an email blast announcing the reopening of Miss Jessie's Salon. Not exactly sure why it closed in the first place, but according to the email, Miko Branch (co-owner & head stylist) seems to be in the salon without her sister Titi. I had to show love to these women, as they were the very first post that started my little blog and I absolutely LOVE their entrepreneurial spirit- and also due to the fact that my mother loves their products too!

Have you tried Miss Jessie's products?

I think I'd read in an interview that they wanted to focus on the product however and even thought I'm not even in NY I was sad to hear they'd chosen to do this. I guess because I love the concept and know you can do both with the right team of people working for you.

So good to hear they've decided to bring it back.

I haven't tried the products yet, I actually received a free sample that for the life of me I cannot find where I put it!!! I'm trying to find it before I break down and buy it because it feels like such a waste being I know it's somewhere in my house yet I'm going to have to do it.

There is a shop near my job that sells it so if I at least get the smaller jar I won't feel too bad:)

To "Donna": Thanks for the info! Give the products a try and see if they work for you!

I love these women and have never even met them! LOL! I guess I love their story, entrepreneurial spirit, launching of products, salon ,etc- they're doing everything I'm working to accomplish!

My first introduction to them was my Mom. She's all the way in Indiana, but had read about their products in Essence. She had cut off all of her hair and was wearing a short natural and had called me and asked me to order the products (curly pudding & curly buttercreme) for her and that's all she wrote! :)

Yes I hear it's wonderful and my hair is braided now but the lenght of my hair would be perfect for what buttercream is able to acheive so I'll break down if I don't find it when I take them out:)

And you hit the mark with this:

"I guess I love their story, entrepreneurial spirit, launching of products, salon ,etc- they're doing everything I'm working to accomplish!" That's why I was disappointed when it closed.

Have you heard of urban bella in ATL? www.urbanbella.com, she's another one that I get excited about love her AND just realized she's the 1st before and after featured on Miss Jessie's site. Wondered why she looked so familiar when I saw her business. Doesn't have her own products but a salon/retail store that is really really cute, for the curly head girls and from the look of the site appears to be very professional. Makes me amped to open my own:)

Yay, that's wonderful to hear that their shop has re-opened. Like you, I love their drive & spirit. Plus, it's always nice to run across products that cater to natural haircare. I have frequented their site, and I must say that I love their work.

I don't currently own any, but Teneasha has the Curly Pudding & Buttercream and she has no complaints thus far. She loves the definition that the pudding gives for her curls & the texture of the product. So i'm sure i'll be "borrowing" some of it lol.
