Mischo Beauty Review: Deluxe Honeydrop

As we all know, beauty starts from within. If you aren't following a healthy diet, it will eventually reveal itself in your hair, skin and nails!

I've been trying especially hard to watch my diet in preparation for the upcoming 10K I'll be running on April 26th. And so in keeping with a healthy diet, I welcomed the opportunity to try Deluxe Honeydrop.

So what makes these drinks unique is that they're "sweetened with a drop of honey and a drop of deluxe premium juices and teas". They're certified organic by the FDA and the packaging is BPA free.

The flavors include: "Chamomile, Tea & Honey", "Apples & Honey" (my favorite), "Blueberries & Honey" (my favorite) and "Blood Oranges & Honey" (my favorite). Ok, I couldn't just pick ONE favorite this time! :) Each has only 80 calories, with no sugar added and the taste is similar to that of flavored water.

Deluxe Honeydrop was founded and developed by David Luks, a cancer survivor, after studying the benefits of an organic lifestyle. Honey is used in the beverage because not only does it contain antioxidants, vitamins and minerals; it also offers fast, instant and lasting energy, making it great for those who workout.

I don't know about you, but when I'm feeling a cold or sore throat coming on- I run for the hot tea, lemon and HONEY! Deluxe Honeydrop is currently available at Whole Foods, natural food stores, and select spas and yoga studios.

Because You're Worth It!: Exhale Mind Body Spa DVD's

Fitness is definitely at the top of my list of New Year's resolutions, because if you're not fit internally, it'll definitely show itself in the outward appearance of your hair, skin and nails! Well, Exhale Mind Body Spa has recently released two DVDs- Exhale: Core Fusion Pilates Plus & Exhale: Core Fusion Body Sculpt.

Both DVDs are segmented into five focused workouts of just 10 minutes each and work to tone, sculpt, relax and refresh the body. Most of you know that I love running and track my workouts on nikeplus.com, but there are times when I can't - or just don't feel like going to the gym and when it comes to working out, at-home alternatives will help keep you focused.

Since I've started using these DVDs (they're both very easy to follow), I've definitely both seen and felt changes in my body- for example, my biceps are shaping up very nicely! Yay! At any rate, you should really give yourself alternatives to ensure that there are no excuses for missing a workout! For more information on these DVDs, visit www.exhalespa.com.

What are your fitness plans/goals for the year? I'd love to know!

Mischo Beauty School: At-Home Skincare 101

With the start of the new year, there's no better time to begin a skincare regimen then now! Every client I've seen for a facial thus far this new year has asked me what they should be doing at home to care for their skin. Here is my recommendation for an at-home skincare regimen in between facials:

1. Cleanse morning & night (never go to bed without cleansing your face!)
2. Tone after cleansing morning & night
3. Use your moisturizer with a minimum of SPF 15 during the day (very, very important!)
4. Use your moisturizer at night
5. Use an eye cream both morning and night under your moisturizer
6. Exfoliate 2x a week
7. Use your mask 2x a week
8. Take a multi-vitamin daily
9. Drink at minimum of 8 glasses of water daily
10. Eat fresh green vegetables at least 3x a week
11. Make sure you're getting adequate sleep!

Most important of all- make sure you're using products for your skin type. For instance, if you have oily skin, look for products for oily skin. Also, make sure your products are labeled "noncomedogenic" which simply means that they won't clog pores.

Love your skin.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions!
