In the Flow of Change with Georgia NY

All good things must come to an end, but absolutely fabulous things only get even better. After three years at their flagship location on The Bowery in New York City, the ladies of Georgia NY are bidding adieu to the retail world to focus on their global presence in wholesale and online. The doors will close at the end of September, so if you are in the area (89 East Houston) please stop on by for discounted goodies and warm conversation.

Those of you who, like me, are already hankering to relax in the eclectically charming and well-appointed boutique/salon as you have known it, can take heart. There are plans in the works for a new salon in NYC, and products from their private label, Georgia by G & Company will be available online as well as at select boutiques internationally. You cannot hold a good woman back from her dreams, let alone two!

If you read the follow-up post on the "Team Beauty Presents... Win Your OWN Product Line!" contest, then you know- as promised- that I'm checking in once again to remind you to get entered! Dare To Dream. The main thing that keeps an objective out of reach is your assumption that you cannot reach it. You're able to do precisely what you expect to be able to do. Are there dreams that you dare not to dream because you've decided that you cannot attain them? If so, then your negative expectation has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Before you abandon or downgrade your most treasured dreams, consider this. When your goal is personally meaningful and compelling, you can achieve it, whatever it may be.

You are never too old or too young, too rich or too poor, to direct the energy of your life toward a compelling objective. Life is about making a difference, and that's something you can do no matter what your circumstances may be. There is somewhere you truly wish to go, something you sincerely desire to achieve, right this very moment. Take the time to find it, commit yourself to it, and make the effort to make it happen. Your dreams represent some of the most valuable gifts you have to give to life. Dare to dream, and allow the best of who you are to be fully expressed.

Mischo Beauty Alert: GEORGIA's Valencia Launch Party

As you all know, I partnered with the chic beauty boutique GEORGIA to co-host "The Trilogy of Perfect Skin Care" last Friday evening. Guests were able to sample the Duchess Marden, Georgia By G and Company, and Kroia skin care lines, all while toasting a new year of new beauty. The event was a SUCCESS, and I'd like to thank everyone again who came out in the freezing cold snow to show their support!

The fabulous beauty entrepreneurs and co-owners of GEORGIA (Jodie & Kiara) are pictured above. They're featured in the March issues of Essence and InStyle magazines- be sure to pick them up!

My friend/sorority sister Ayanna (fabulous copywriter/creative), whom I've known since college (she went to Emory, I went to Spelman) was there to take all the photos, record video and do just about anything I needed her to do! I can't thank her enough for all of her hard work and support!!

Guests appreciated the many haircare collections carried by GEORGIA. Yes, there's a product/regimen for EVERY texture/hair type! And, you know I love that! Yay!!!

I had every intention of blogging, but when I set foot on the island, it was all over- instant paradise! Ahhhhhhhh! I'll update you more on that later...

The exciting news today is that- well, remember the post a few months back on the chic beauty boutique and salon called Georgia? Well, on February 12th from 6pm - 9pm, I'll join the owners, Jodie and Kiara, in introducing you to "The Trilogy of Perfect Skin Care." Mischo Beauty Loves GEORGIA Beauty Boutique & Salon

I hope you all had lovely weekends. I know I did - especially since learning about a flagship boutique and salon called Georgia. It's described as "the ultimate boudoir for the modern woman" and I think I've fallen in love with it!

The stylish boutique and salon is owned by Jodie Patterson whose background includes fashion and entertainment, and sister-in-law/finance expert Kiara Ellozy. Their love of beauty and obsession with healthy hair and skin naturally led them to open Georgia. The intimate space, designed by Serge Becker and Christian Wassman, includes aged foundation walls, sleek brass-rimed shelving, marble counters, antique wooden doors, floor-to-ceiling linen drapery and 10 foot windows.

I'm loving the boutique's "inspiration wall" which includes photos of the owners, as well as photos of family, friends, artwork and beauty icons we all know and love.

I about died when I saw the black tiled heart-shaped shampoo area! So unique- and the perfect signature touch- I love it! The private salon is tucked away in one corner and staffs six stylists, trained to care for all hair types. Specialties include cuts, color, extensions, weaves, braids and dreads. And those of you with textured hair (wavy, curly, kinky, etc.) should know that the salon has become the go-to for your specific hair type!

The boutique offers 40 select brands of products from all over the world, including drugstore brands as well as your high-end brands. They also carry styling tools, hair accessories from France and hair extensions. I was so happy to learn that they carry a few of my personal favorites such as Davines, Phyto, Jane Carter Solution, Mixed Chicks and Hair Rules.

In addition to the jewelry, lingerie and skin and body products carried by the boutique, they also carry their own signature line called G & Company. It includes a body cream (top seller), body wash, hair brushes, silk pillowcases (you all know how I feel about silk pillowcases! If you don't have one you need to get one ASAP!) and candles.

So now you all know why I've fallen so hard! This is a dream come true for a beauty lover!!! I'd love to know your thoughts. Do share!
