Mischo Beauty Pick: Mystic Tan Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer Body SPF 15 & Sunless Tanning Lotion Face + Body

Before heading out to LA last weekend for the BET Awards, I treated myself to an airbrush tan. I don't lay out in the sun and really wanted a bronzy glow- similar to Jada Pinkett Smith's July cover of Essence. Unfortunately, two days after the airbrush service, I saw the tan washing down the drain of the shower.

But luckily for me, Mystic Tan rescued me! A combination of the Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (body) and the Sunless Tanning Lotion (face & body) helped me save what was left of my airbrush tan, in addition to giving me a sexy, natural glow. And what I loved most was the fact that my skin looked so toned! A definite beauty win! (#beautywin).

Would love to know if you're using Mystic Tan products, and what your thoughts are!

Mischo Beautyliciousness...

It's no secret that I'm a huge Nia Long fan! So my question for you today is- are we all in agreement that Nia doesn't age!?! Seriously! She was recently photographed at the 3rd annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, and I can't believe she'll be 40 in October. Either she has great genes, or she has the best skincare/haircare/health regimen.

Which do you think it is?

What are your thoughts on Essence Magazine’s Beauty Director & Cover Editor, Mikki Taylor’s recent departure from the magazine?

I'm sure you've all heard the news about her retirement, and according to a press release issued by Essence, she will move into the position of Editor-at-Large. I had no idea she'd been with the magazine for 30 years- amazing! Growing up, the magazine could easily be found in my mother's home, grandmother's home- it really was all black women had for so many years. Mikki's direction of and contributions to the magazine will definitely be missed!

So my question for you today is: What are your thoughts on Mikki's departure? Do you think the magazine will suffer because of it? Or, do you feel change is great, and this is just a move in a new/fresh direction?

Mischo Beauty Superstar of the Week: Kiyah Wright

I can't believe it's time for this post again- time is flying! At any rate, I'm happy to announce that this week's "Mischo Beauty Superstar" is celebrity hairstylist, Kiyah Wright. Now you might be unfamiliar with her name, but if you've ever seen an episode of "The Tyra Banks Show" (for which she won an Emmy!) or "America's Next Top Model", then you've witnessed the fabulous hairstyles she's created for Tyra. Kiyah's also styled celebrities such as Iman, Kerry Washington, Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans, just to name a few.

Her work has appeared in such magazines as Vogue, ELLE, Glamour and Essence. I think what I'm loving most is that while Kiyah loves working "behind the chair", she's been able to use her expertise to develop hair accessories and products, and launch an image consulting company called, Muze Agency (all the things I'm planning to do!). Anyway, check out her amazing portfolio here, as well as her website. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section!
