What's the worst beauty advice you've ever received?
You've got to let me know! For me personally, it's not that I've received horrible beauty advice, it's just that it's annoying when someone tries to advise you and they don't follow their own direction! For example, I had an esthetics instructor who smoked cigarettes - and I'm sure you can imagine the rest... I was never able to wrap my brain around the fact that she taught skincare/skin health, but smoked cigarettes!?! Like, who really still even smokes? Anyway, please share your stories in the comments section below!

By a woman at a makeup counter (i think it was Estee Lauder but i forget) who told me that i should use a foundation two shades darker to "lift" my skin tone. A) who says i want to lift it? I've been this pale all my life i'm sure i can deal with it, and B) even if i did want to lift it, i think i could choose a better method rather than one which makes me look orange and/or muddy like she did. Geeez, how to some people get employed?!

The worst advice I've been given is to use a certain hair removal product. It burned my skin so now I only wax!
When I started going through puberty, my grandmother told me to wash my face with Ivory soap and moisturize with Vaseline...Let's just say it didn't work out!
Not sure about advice, but some of the worst beauty decisions I've ever made were 1)washing my hair every other day like some of my high school classmates whose texture and hair needs were completely different than my own and following up with lots of hair spray 2) racking up frequent traveler miles on the Acrylic Falsies Train to destination Destroyed Nail-ville before accepting that, for me, manicures are the way to go and 3) letting parental responsibilities get in the way of regular and loving self-care rituals for too long. :)
To Jo: OMG! Hilarious, but sad... :(
To Nikhel: Oh no! :(
To Nikia: LOL! Too funny!
To Zee: Awwww- well, the beauty of all of that is- you live and learn! ;)
