COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lipsticks

There are some new lipsticks in town, ladies, courtesy of the COVERGIRL Queen Collection. Hypoallergenic and infused with a silk protein designed to soften your lips more and more with each wear, they are available in a range of colors specifically suited to women of color. The selection which I test drove included Ruby Slipper, Fine Wine, Spicy Seduction and Girly Pink. Fine Wine was by far my favorite.

It is a richly pigmented shade that goes on smoothly, though it is sadly not thick enough to avoid light re-application many times throughout the day. This particular color faded into a lovely berry-colored stain on my lips which I appreciated, though not as much as I enjoyed the intensity of color when it was freshly applied. Although the packaging on these lipsticks has been given an upgrade, work still needs to be done in the longevity department. -Zee

I hated these lipsticks so much I returned them. The colors where amazing but there was so much glitter in the lipsticks I could actually feel it on my lips if I rubbed them together. It made my lips so chapped. I was so ampted for these lipsticks but I was highly disappointed.

@Social Buttafly-thank you, that is good to know. The lipsticks were not moisturizing or drying for me, but I mainly wore the Fine Wine, which is without glitter. Girly Pink does sparkle a bit but not as much as Spicy Seduction. That shade was not particularly drying when I wore it, but I imagine that each person's lips has its own threshold. Great heads up!

I love the packaging of these lipsticks. I will have to check these out at the drugstore.

@Shalon-Please come back and let us know what you think once you give them a try. I'm very curious to see if you experience any of the moisturizing benefit.
